MERCHANT SALES MANAGER

We have an opportunity for a Merchant Sales Manager, based in Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), to join our team in an exciting new venture.
In this role you’ll manage a small team working with VeriFone Mobile Money customers to source and manage the acquisition of retailers and merchants for our new retail Point of Sale payment systems. You’ll undertake market analysis and segmentation and the identification of new retail merchants and agents, and subsequently work with them to ensure they are retained.
Specific responsibilities include:
In this role you’ll manage a small team working with VeriFone Mobile Money customers to source and manage the acquisition of retailers and merchants for our new retail Point of Sale payment systems. You’ll undertake market analysis and segmentation and the identification of new retail merchants and agents, and subsequently work with them to ensure they are retained.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Design and implementation of sales strategies that meet set targets.
- Networking with referral partners.
- Monitor merchant transactions/volumes and with the team formulate appropriate merchant retention strategies to minimize attrition.
- Sales activity reporting.
- Product training and support.
- Coach and manage a small team of Merchant Sales Representatives.
- Develop knowledge of competitor activities, market trends, and relevant technology.
Compétences et expérience souhaitées
To be considered for this opportunity the following experience and capabilities are required:
Flexibility to work outside normal business hours on occasions is also a requirement of this position.

- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Merchant Acquisition.
- Strong sales and customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in enabling efficient end-to-end process management.
- Ability to analyse an opportunity from a quantitative and qualitative perspective.
- Highly numerate - ability to understand/lead financial and pricing aspects of partnerships.
- Knowledge of product offerings, economics and marketplace for mobile payments.
- Pro-active with identifying and resolving issues with stakeholders / customers.
- Experience coaching / managing others.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexibility to work outside normal business hours on occasions is also a requirement of this position.
